We've had a roadmap page on concrete5.org for awhile. It's generally been a high-level affair, with us sharing some general thoughts about the direction of the platform. But it's hardly been the specific, granular roadmap that people have been looking for. That's going to change today.

Today concrete5 documentation is focused around technical developer docs, and more interface focused editors guide. There’s also a searchable collection of Tutorials, which are typically short and very task specific. We want to create a new Implementation Guide.

What's so great about new concrete5 anyway?

We are looking for accomplished interactive media designers. This may be either an individual freelancer or an agency that provides services. We generally do not sell design or strategy services, but we do need internal design support. We have an immediate need of redesigning PortlandLabs.com, and we’d like to develop more on-going relationships with design resources we can recommend to our clients.

In less than a week, I'll be boarding a plane heading to the twelfth annual PHPUK conference. PHPUK is one of the largest PHP conferences in the world and boasts a strong lineup of talks including topics around new PHP features, community, hosting, performance, security, and even dealing with people.

One talk I’m particularly looking forward to is entitled “Towards a framework-less world” where Michael Cullum speaks to the growing trend of micro-libraries and framework agnostic code.

The fun will be hosted at The Brewery, which has been serving brews and hosting events since the mid-eighteenth;'  century! This venue is large enough to host three tracks at once, that means for any one time slot there are three talk options for you to choose from. The camaraderie that comes with a shared understanding of the problems we all face as PHP developers and the shared experience of learning and teaching is humbling, to say the least. Even with all the learning and teaching, the thing I’m absolutely most excited about is getting to see old friends, and making new ones, from the concrete5 community and the greater PHP community.

So if you are heading to PHPUK as well, or if you are in London, do not hesitate to reach out to me!
